Wherever medium must be prevented from flowing back in systems, or equipment is to be protected against medium blow back, check valves are used. Two types are available:
The check valve without a spring is primarily used for the protection of fittings against blow-back from a system. These valves have a low opening pressure.
The check valve with a spring on the other hand prevents medium flowing back on a pressure drop. In this case the spring automatically closes the valve.
