SCHMITT-Centrifugal Pumps S rangeSelf-priming pumps
Design |
block construction |
Material |
PVC or PP suction case. Other plastic parts in contact with the transmitted medium are manufactured from PVDF. Metal parts are fabricated from stainless steel or Hastelloy. |
Max. delivery rate |
210 l/min |
Max. delivery height |
28 m |
Drive motor |
0,25 -2,2 KW |
Max. Suction head |
5 m | The pumps in the S range are fitted with an enlarged pump casing which serves as a reservoir for the transmitted fluid. After the reservoir has been filled, the pump produces its own suction, and is therefore self-priming. The impellers of the pumps in this range are shaft-driven. Internal slide rings provide effective sealing for the shaft passage. The pumps in the S range are available in three different specifications (A, B and C). The specification of pump that you require will depend on the medium you wish to transmit.
- Specification A: No metal parts come into contact with the medium to be transmitted. Thrust-collar-loaded mechanical seal. Impeller equipped with shaft sleeve.
- Specification B: Spring-loaded mechanical seal. Impeller equipped with shaft sleeve. The Hastelloy spring is in contact with the medium to be transmitted.
- Specification C: Spring-loaded mechanical seal. Stainless steel or Hastelloy shaft without shaft sleeve. All metal parts in contact with the transmitted medium are manufactured from stainless steel or Hastelloy.
All of the above specifications of pump are suitable for the transmission of media at temperatures of up to 50°C. The mechanical seal in this range can be manufactured from a variety of different materials, depending on the conditions in which the seals are required to operate.
Sliding materials: Carbon, Ceramics or SiC Elastomers: FKM (i.e. Viton®), EPDM, FEP or Kalrez®
This series can be equipped with a double-action mechanical seal, (type S-DO). The double-action mechanical seal requires a sealing fluid to be supplied. These models are available with a choice of electric drive motors: three-phase or single-phase and three-phase explosion protection or flameproof enclosure drives. All drives can be adapted to work off any voltage or frequency. The characteristic curves of these models have been measured using three-phase double pole 50 Hz drives, with water as a test medium, at a temperature of 20 °C.
Advantages:
- Capacity to pump fluid media from a lower level
Some uses and applications:
- Transfer of chemicals
- Bottling plants
- Drainage systems
